The art of taking wickets in the middle-overs in ODIs has almost become redundant. With the ICC focusing on Test and T20I cricket, bilateral ODI series in between are far and few. The recent series between India and South Africa is an evident example of Indian bowlers not being able to pick wickets in the middle overs. Ths hosts scored 296/4 in the first ODI. They chased down 288 with ease in the second and piled up another 287 runs in the final game.
India could not take wickets in the middle-overs with their spinners negated by the hosts tremendously well. This made the BCCI consider recalling Kuldeep Yadav alongside Yuzvendra Chahal for the ODI series against West Indies at home.
Bott the Indian bowlers have taken bagful of wickets between themselves between 2017-2019 at a time when they hunted as a pair. In this article, we will take a look at the bowler who took most wickets in overs 10-40 since 2016.
