Former Australian National Cricket Team opener Adam Gilchrist named his top three wicketkeepers. He named MS Dhoni as his favorite keeper as well, saying that he likes the way Chennai Super Kings players remain calm and maintain coolness.

The game of cricket has seen quite a few keeper batters who have made themselves a huge name. The art of keeping is not easy but there have been few who have mastered it and still are considered as best keepers in the game. One among them is Adam Gilchrist.

Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist arguably is the greatest keeper batter in the history of the game. The Southpaw apart from being the terrific keeper was an explosive batter as well as he tilted the game in his team's favor many times and took them to famous victories.

Gilchrist played a huge role in the Australian National Cricket Team winning the 2002 and 2007 World Cups. While he was touted as the best keeper batter of his team, he also named his favorite counterparts, whom he enjoyed watching.

Gilchrist named Rodney Marsh as his idol, saying that he was his idol and he wanted to become like him. Marsh played 96 Tests for Australia between 1970 and 1984. Gilchrist also went on to name former India keeper-batter MS Dhoni as his favorite keeper.

The last name of Gilchrist's favorite keeper batter was Kumar Sangakkara. He called the former Sri Lanka National Cricket Team player classy, saying that he was top-notch batting and keeping. Speaking in an interaction with the Times of India, he explained:

"Rodney Marsh, he was my idol. That's who I wanted to be. MS Dhoni, I like his coolness. He did it in his way, always calm. And Kumar Sangakkara. He was so classy in everything he did, batting high up the order and with his keeping skills."

I'm going to say Australia - Adam Gilchrist on Border-Gavaskar Trophy result

Adam Gilchrist further makes his predictions for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that Australia will have a point to prove. He believes that it will be a close tussle between the teams. He explained:

"The onus is on Australia to prove they are the dominant force at home. India knows how to go away and win overseas. Naturally, I'm going to say Australia, hope they get there. But it's too close to call. It will be a close tussle."

The Border-Gavaskar will begin on 22nd November at the Optus Stadium in Perth. India National Cricket Team has been dominant on their last two tours, winning two back-to-back series. They would be keen to achieve the same feat this time around as well. On the other hand, the Australia National Cricket Team would be hoping to prove their dominance and take revenge on India. This will also be the first time in decades that both teams will be facing each other in the five-match Test series.
