Nepal T20 League - Lumbini All Stars Beat Janakpur Royals In A Thrilling Contest

Lumbini All Stars, on Tuesday (January 3), beat Janakpur Royals to consolidate their position at the top of the points table in the ongoing Nepal T20 League.
The top-of-the-table clash lived up to the expectation as All Stars and Royals played out a thriller before the former registered a five-run win. All Stars now have 7 wins from 8 games while the Royals have 5 wins from 8 games.
Chasing 179, the Royals put up a good show with the bat but eventually fell short by 5 runs as they finished on 173 for 5. Skipper Trevon Griffith and Sharafuddin Ashraf gave the Royals a good start by adding 51 runs in 35 balls for the first wicket before departing in quick succession.
Chadwick Walton scored an unbeaten fifty and got good support from the likes of Sundeep Jora (26) and Samiullah Shinwari (18) but just could not finish the job for his side. In the last over, the Royals needed 18 runs and they managed just 12. Walton remained unbeaten in 59 off 36 balls.

Earlier in the game, Lumbini All Stars scored 178 for 6 after winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Opener Harmeet Singh top-scored for the All Stars, scoring 73 off 47 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes.

He shared fifty-plus stands with opener Lahiru Milantha and Kushal Bhurtel to set the foundation for the big total. For the Royals, Sharafuddin Ashraf was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 35.
