Nepal's Leg Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane Keen To Play In The IPL Again

Nepal’s young leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane who wasn’t retained by the Delhi franchise for the ongoing IPL 2021 has revealed his desire to play in the cash-rich tournament again. Lamichhane was the first player in IPL history to be playing from his nation of Nepal and he was picked up at his base price of Rs.20 lakh.
The 20-year-old has so far played 9 IPL games and has managed to pick up 13 wickets. He did not play any game in the previous season despite being with the squad and it wasn’t a surprise when he was released as Delhi had a lot of spinners in their armory. He is one of the best spin bowlers from the associate nations and has played for many famous franchises around the world.

Sandeep Lamichhane Relishes The Memories With The Delhi Team
The young leggie said that it was fantastic to have played for the Delhi franchise in the last three seasons of IPL and he wasn’t ready to forget it quickly. He lauded captain Shreyas Iyer and Ricky Ponting for their support and was delighted to learn a lot from the franchise. He expressed his desire to play in the IPL again if he gets picked up in the auction again.
“It was fantastic to get a chance to play for the Delhi team in the IPL. It’s something which I’m going to remember for a long time. Playing under (coach) Ricky Ponting) and (captain) Shreyas Iyer, it was amazing. I participated in three IPL seasons. I couldn’t get a game last season, but the processes and things that I learned there were amazing,” Sandeep Lamichhane Said
“Yes, if somebody picks me up, then I definitely would want to play in the IPL again,” he added when questioned if he wants to play IPL again.

Sandeep Not Threatened By Bio Bubble Difficulties
Sandeep Lamichhane mentioned that he has got used to being in the bio bubble now and it has been the routine for him for the past year. He has been in the bio bubble from the CPL, IPL, BBL, PSL, and now the ongoing tri-series between Netherlands, Malaysia, and Nepal.
“For me, staying in a bubble has become a habit now. For almost one year now, I’ve been playing in a bio-bubble-from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), to the IPL, BBL, Pakistan Super League (PSL), and now this T20- Tri-Series” Sandeep said.

Lamichanne is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing tri-series tournament and will have a big part to play in the final against the Netherlands.
