Pakistan and Afghanistan are squaring off with each other in the first game of the three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. The Afghans have dominated the Babar Azam-led side so far in the game and are at the top.
Afghanistan have looked top-notch with the ball and have displayed some staggering fielding performance. Asked to bowl first, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led side struck from the first over and put Pakistan under immense pressure.
Fazalhaq Farooqi drew the first blood for his team as he removed Fakhar Zaman in the first over of the game. But what caught the attention of many was his catch saw former captain Mohammad Nabi threatening to hit his teammate Rahmat Shah for fumbling the catch but thankfully the former took it.
Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled a full and wide delivery to which Fakhar Zaman tried to drive. The batter only managed a thick outside edge and the ball went to second slip fielder Rahmat Shah. But he couldn’t quite grab the ball as the ball popped out of his hands.
Mohammad Nabi, who was stationed at the first slip, took the catch as the ball popped out of Rahmat Shah’s hand. As the catch was taken, the latter went to celebrate but Nabi didn’t like it as he threatened to hit him with the throw.
