New Zealand is all set to clash against Pakistan for a 5 T20I Series commencing on 14th April (*Friday). The likes of Mitchell Santner, Trent Boult & Tim Southee won’t be present due to IPL commitments. Babar Azam will be leading the side after taking a break against Afghanistan T20I Series. Azam would be keen to make a statement that he is not done yet.

The Men in Green can’t take New Zealand lightly as they still have the services of James Neesham & Daryl Mitchell who have the knack of playing match-winning knocks for the team. It would be interesting to see how Ish Sodhi fares, he will have to lead the spin attack.

Pakistan would be keen to bounce back strongly after suffering a humiliating T20I series defeat against Afghanistan. PCB has named a full-fledged squad but they should make sure that they manage the workload of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf & Naseem Shah.

Living in Pakistan is like living in jail – Simon Doull

Simon Doull was having an interaction with Geo News. Simon Doull stated that it was quite a dangerous situation when he criticised Babar Azam during PSL 2023. Simon Doull also pointed out that he was quite grateful to come out of Pakistan.

“Living in Pakistan is like living in jail. I was not allowed to go out as Babar Azam fans were waiting for me. And I stayed without food for many days. Even I was mentally tortured, but by the grace of God, I somehow escaped,” said Simon Doull.

Earlier, Simon Doull who was in the commentary panel for PSL 2023 was furious on Babar Azam (*playing for Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators) for not scoring runs aggressively at the back end of the innings Babar Azam had taken 14 balls to score 17 runs when he was 83, the track was quite batting friendly. PSZ had lost the match by 8 wickets & 10 balls left.

“Rather than putting the team first… the last little while, that’s all that been happening. Rather than looking for boundaries, still, so much firepower to come. Hundreds are brilliant, stats are great, but it has to be team first,” said Simon Doull.

Virat Kohli is concerned about his personal milestones- Simon Doull

The Kiwi in the ongoing IPL 2023 also took a dig at the star batter Virat Kohli. Simon Doull who was doing commentary for RCB vs LSG match stated that there is no room for milestones in this format of the game. RCB had lost that match by 1 wicket in the last ball as another 15-20 runs would have made the difference in the end. (*RCB had scored 212-2).

“From 42 to 50, he took 10 balls. He is concerned about his personal milestones. I don’t think there’s room for that in this game anymore,” said Simon Doull.
