Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is going through a revamp at the moment after the amendment to the PCB constitution. Najam Sethi surprisingly has been named the new PCB chairman; earlier he also had the chairman from 2014-2017. Ramiz Raja was removed from the post after being named in September 2021.
Under Ramiz Raja’s tenure, the Men in Green reached the semi-finals of T20 WC 2021 & finals of 2022, and most importantly, the former cricketer successfully conducted Australia & England tours. It won’t be wrong to say that Ramiz Raja has changed the face of Pakistan Cricket.

Ramiz Raja on PCB
Ramiz Raja had an hour online live YouTube session where he was quite furious on PCB. “Aisa inhone hamla kiya cricket board mein aake. Mera saman bhi nahi lene diya inlogo ne. Subah yeh 9 baje, 17 bande dhandate fir rahe they cricket board mein. Jaise ki koi FIA ka chapa par gaya.” (They way they attacked the cricket board. They didn’t even let me take my stuff. Early morning at 9 around 17 guys stormed at the office, which felt as if the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan has raided the office).
PCB Chief Operating Officer , Salman Nasser clarified the situation and made a statement. “All belongings of Ramiz Raja were collected by me as COO of PCB prior to arrival of Najam Sethi on the morning of being notified and have been safely kept in PCB custody and will of-course be returned as a part of usual handing over/taking over process.” said Salman Nasser.

Steep Challenge ahead for PCB
According to reports, PCB is all set to change the coaching staff as Najam Sethi has indicated that Mickey Arthur would take over from the current coach Saqlain Mushtaq. With less than a year left for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, these changes can affect the team’s dynamics.
Earlier, Ramiz Raja had threatened BCCI that they would pull of Asia Cup 2023 if the tournament is shifted from Pakistan. It would be interesting to see what stance does the PCB Chairman Najam Sethi take. Pakistan fans would be hoping that the tournament isn’t shifted as the nation hasn’t hosted Asia Cup since 2008.
