Pakistan Pacer Naseem Shah Inks Deal With Gloucestershire
Pakistan’s up and coming young pacer Naseem Shah has been signed by the county side, Gloucestershire, ahead of the long domestic season.
Naseem will be available to play for the team in all the formats in the first few months of the new season. This also includes the T20 Vitality Blast and its group stages.
The 18-year-old will have to turn up for the national team from June if he is called up for a series. He has already played nine Tests since making his debut in 2019. His potential could be realised further once he plays in different conditions.
“I’m excited for what we can achieve as a team” – Naseem Shah
Naseem set a record for being the second youngest cricketer to take a five-wicket haul and he did it against Sri Lanka. With a long career ahead of him, he seemed quite enthusiastic about joining Gloucestershire county.
“I’m extremely happy to be joining Gloucestershire and can’t wait to experience playing in English cricket for the first time. I’m excited for what we can achieve as a team next season and will use all my skills to help Gloucestershire challenge for silverware across all formats,” Naseem said.
Naseem becomes the fifth player to join the county team in 2022 after Marcus Harris, Ajeet Singh Dale, Paul van Meekeren, and Zafar Gohar.
