Pakistan Women's Team Set To Host A White-Ball Series Against South Africa Women's Team For The First Time

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the schedule of Pakistan’s women’s team’s white-ball series against South Africa’s women’s team at home. Pakistan will host the South African team for the first time in history, which will be played in September 2023.

South Africa will play three T20Is followed by three one-day internationals (ODIs) in their tour of Pakistan. The series will kick off on September 1, and the final match will be played on September 14. All the matches will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

The tour will start with a three-match T20I series, with the first match scheduled to be played in September. The third and final will be played on September 5. The ODI series, which is part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, will be played between September 8 and 14.

Pakistan’s women’s cricket team are in second place in the 10-team points table, while South Africa’s women’s cricket team are in sixth place. India’s women’s team are at the top of the table with six wins out of six games, while Pakistan registered five wins out of nine games.

“The next 12 months will be incredibly busy for the Pakistan women’s cricket team and I look forward to the upcoming assignments with excitement and anticipation. These matches will contribute significantly to our endeavours to gain experience and exposure, and narrow the gap with the front-runners,” Pakistan skipper Nida Dar said.

South Africa captain Sune Luus expressed excitement about playing a bilateral series in Pakistan, stating it is a crucial series for them to finish high in the championship standings.

“I am extremely excited to be back to play a bilateral series in Pakistan. Pakistan is always a very competitive and dangerous side in their own backyard, so I feel it’s going to be a good series. The ODIs being a part of the ICC Women’s Championship is very important for women’s cricket, and we all are looking forward to it,” Sune Luus said.
