Australia National Cricket Team Test captain Pat Cummins issued a warning to the Indian team ahead of the five-match Test series between the teams. He revealed that he will be missing the white-ball series against Scotland and England to be in full tilt against the Rohit Sharma-led side.

Australia are all set to host India for the five-match Test series later this year. This will for the first time that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be having five games and the excitement for the series is already high because of what happened last time when the two teams played each other down under.

India on their last two tours to Australia have been dominating. They have won the last two Test series but this time around Pat Cummins would be hoping to change things and take his team to glory. The India vs Australia series has been a blockbuster series and this time around something similar is expected.

Before the India Tests, Australia will be touring Scotland and England for the white-ball series. It is expected that the 2023 World Cup winners will be giving opportunities to young players, especially with the transition phase on.

Pat Cummins, who has been playing continuously since IPL 2024, expressed his desire to be fully fit for the home season. He said that after the ongoing Major League Cricket, he will be taking time off and will be focusing on the India Tests. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, he explained:

"That window has always been earmarked as a time to really give my body a rest and do close to a full pre-season. I should get six or eight weeks off bowling and then build up again. Once this MLC opportunity came up and we mapped out the plan, it didn't change much.

"I'll get home, I'll have a good six or eight weeks off bowling where I'll get in the gym every day, do some running, and get some strength back into my body. And then we've got a big Test match series [against India] for our home summer, so that'll be the focus."

I haven't taken much time to reinvest back in my body - Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins further talked about workload management, saying that players like him who play all three formats, should prioritize and pick the right series to be in full tilt for important games. He elaborated:

"Everyone's a little bit more realistic about the schedules nowadays. We spend ten-plus months of the year away on the road, so some tours probably carry a little bit more importance than others. For the guys that play all three formats, you're always trying to make sure you're peaking for those major events - and it feels like there have been about ten major events in the last 18 months, so I haven't really taken much time to reinvest back in my body," he concluded.
