Rahul Dravid Invited To Speak At The 15th Annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference

Former India captain and legendary batsman, Rahul Dravid will speak at a 15th annual Sloan Sports Analytics Conference of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is a conference that aims to “cultivates the use of analytics and innovation in sports.”
It will be the first time that the panel is conducting a discussion on cricket. The conference, which is organized virtually on April 8 and 9, has a theme: “Show Me the Data.” Alok Singh, director at Dell Technologies, will moderate this conference on “Howzdata: How Analytics is Revolutionising Cricket.” Alok Singh is well-known for his heavy engagements in developing youth cricket in the United States.
Rahul Dravid will be joined by Gary Kirsten and Isa Guha
Rahul Dravid, who scored over 10,000 runs in both ODIs and Tests, will be accompanied by former cricketers Gary Kirsten and Isa Guha. Gary Kirsten is a former South African batsman who coached the 2011 World Cup-winning team. Isa Guha, the England seamer, is a World Cup and a World T20 champion, an Ashes winner, and now a respected commentator.
The discussion will be centred around the role of analytics in cricket and will take a deep dive into the services which are gained in cricket at the moment. It will also compare it with other sporting leagues, such as the NFL, MLB, NBA which have been relying on data extensively much before its familiarity in cricket.
Premier sports in the US like basketball, football, baseball will also offer to learn for cricket to use analytics and technology. Other prominent sports-related personalities such as Sue Bird, Mark Cuban, Erika Nardini, and DeMaurice Smith will be part of this conference.
“Our goal is to provide more opportunities for sharing industry successes, to create forums to discuss the most challenging topics of the day, and to continue identifying new ideas,” the release said.
