India National Cricket Team all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has achieved a massive feat in the history of Test cricket. He joined Ravindra Jadeja in the elite list of players to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC).

Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin achieved the feat in the ongoing first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The opening game of the two-match Test series between the teams is taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Ravichandran Ashwin has stood tall for his team with the bat in the ongoing Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. When the chips were down, the veteran all-rounder made sure that he thrived for his team at his home ground and bailed them out of trouble with his brilliant batting.

Ravichandran Ashwin walked out to bat at No.8 when India was left reeling at 144/6. The off-spinner came out with an attacking mindset and made sure that he put the pressure back on the opposition. He played the shots right from the start and made an immediate statement after he arrived at the crease.

Ravichandran Ashwin recognized the need to get some runs for the Team quickly as he attacked both spinners as well as the fast bowlers. He along with Ravindra Jadeja brought India National Cricket Team back in the game as they went past 250 runs with ease, which at one moment looked difficult

Ashwin brought his 15th Test half-century and with the kind of innings that he played, he made almost everyone stand and applaud him for his innings. He hardly has put a foot wrong in his innings and is looking all set for a big knock on his home turf.

As Ashwin surpassed the 52-run mark in his innings, he completed 1000 runs in the ICC World Test Championship. The veteran Indian off-spinner already has taken 174 wickets to his name in the history of the Championship in the longest format of the game, becoming just the second player to do so.

Ravindra Jadeja was the first player to achieve the feat of scoring 1000 runs and taking 100 wickets in WTC history. He had achieved the feat during the fourth Test played between India and England in Ranchi earlier this year. The all-rounder also has slammed a terrific half-century in the ongoing game.

Both Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have bailed the Indian team out of trouble in the ongoing game. With the team reeling at 144/6, they have put on 100+ partnerships and have ensured that they bat full flow. They would be keen to take their team to a big total.

Ravichandran Ashwin on the verge of becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker in WTC history

Ashwin also is on the verge of becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker in WTC history. He needs 14 wickets to go past Nathan Lyon's tally of 187. He would be keen to achieve that in the ongoing series and help his team.
