Ravindra Jadeja Has Become A Three-Dimensional Player In Last 2-3 Years: Danish Kaneria

Former Pakistan player Danish Kaneria feels that Ravindra Jadeja has become a three-dimensional player in the last 2-3 years. He also said that Jadeja will remember his performance against Sri Lanka in Mohali Test for a very long time.

Ravindra Jadeja came up with an impeccable all-round show in India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test. Jadeja slammed an unbeaten 175-run knock in the 1st innings. Later, he also hunted 9 wickets in the match, grabbing a 5-wicket haul in the 1st innings. He also won the player of the match award for his fabulous performance.

Ravindra Jadeja has been simply amazing: Danish Kaneria

While speaking about Jadeja’s performance in India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test, Danish Kaneria said that the Indian all-rounder become a three-dimensional player in the last 2-3 years and gained maturity and experience.

“India crushed Sri Lanka inside three days. Sir Ravindra Jadeja has been simply amazing. If I see him as a cricketer for the last 2-3 years, he has become a three-dimensional player. He has also attained maturity and experience,” Danish Kaneria said.

“He also showed how an innings should be paced and his three triple centuries in domestic cricket are proof of it. You cannot take him out of the game, be it with the bat or ball or in the field. He will remember this performance for a very long time,” Kaneria further said.

Danish Kaneria was also impressed with Ravindra Jadeja’s selfless attitude for his batting. He could have slammed a double hundred in the match but he chose to declare the innings for the benefit of the team.

“The thing that I liked about him was when he was just 15-20 (25) runs for his double hundred and when Kuldeep Yadav came with the message that you go for it, he said no.

“He realized that the Sri Lankan team is tired and if they put them in, they could take four-five wickets by the end of day’s play,” Danish Kaneria further said.

With Ravindra Jadeja’s outstanding batting and bowling show in the match, India crushed Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs. India posted 574-8 (d) in the 1st innings. Other than Jadeja, Rishabh Pant (96) and Ravichandran Ashwin (61) scored good knocks.

Later, India bowled out Sri Lanka for 174 and 178 in both innings. Jadeja hunted 9 wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin picked 6 wickets in the match. India and Sri Lanka will now lock horns in the 2nd Test. The match begins on March 12 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
