Fans on Twitter reacted after Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals in the 62nd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. They outclassed the opposition by 47 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday (12th May) to keep themselves in contention for playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were off to a flying start with the bat, thanks to Virat Kohli (27). The batter came out all guns blazing and added a 23-run partnership with Faf du Plessis, who managed just six runs at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.

After that Will Jacks (41) and Rajat Patidar (52) took centre stage. The Jacks-Patidar duo added 88 runs and put Delhi Capitals bowlers under pressure. Cameron Green (32*) in the end made sure that Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished the innings on high.

Based on the collective effort, they posted a total of 187 for nine. For Delhi Capitals, Rasikh Salam and Khaleel Ahmed picked two wickets while Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, and Kuldeep Yadav bagged one wicket each for their team.

Jake Fraser-McGurk (21) batted in his usual manner at the top but Delhi Capitals were off to a worst possible start. They were reeling at 30 for four as Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers were all over the opposition.

With the team under pressure. Skipper Axar Patel (57) and Shai Hope (29) brought their team back into the game. The duo added 56 runs for the fifth wicket but after that, nothing went their way. Delhi Capitals kept losing at regular intervals as skipper Axar Patel was left stranded at one end.

The stand-in skipper tried his best but couldn’t take his team home as Delhi Capitals lost and bagged a few unfortunate runouts. Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowled out Delhi Capitals to 140 and won the game by 47 runs.
