Delhi Capitals' capped Indian chinaman Kuldeep Yadav hailed Ravichandran Ashwin for always teaching him things about bowling during their chats. 

Kuldeep Yadav, who is a part of the 15-man Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, made this claim about Ravichandran Ashwin recently. The wrist-spinner made this claim after the match between Delhi Capitals and the Rajasthan Royals concluded in Arun Jaitley stadium.

Delhi had defeated Rajasthan by 20 runs to deny them the opportunity to become the first team to secure play-off qualification in IPL 2024.

What did Kuldeep Yadav say about Ravichandran Ashwin? 

While speaking to the official IPL website, Kuldeep Yadav had high praise for his senior in the Indian team. Kuldeep stated that he gets a lot to learn from Ravichandran Ashwin whenever he speaks to the latter. 

Kuldeep Yadav then shed light on Ravi Ashwin's performance against the Delhi Capitals at the National capital wherein he picked 3 important wickets. Ashwin first removed the ever-so-dangerous Jake Fraser-McGurk for 50 off 20 before grabbing the wicket of Axar Patel for 15 and Abhishek Porel for 65 off 36. 

The Chinaman stated that he loves to take on a challenge against the main spinners of a team and that he always looks to dominate. 

"I learn a lot from him obviously I talk a lot with him. He bowled well today as well, and took three crucial wickets. It’s like a competition as well that he’s the main spinner of the opposition team and we also have top spinners in our team. So I always look to dominate." - Kuldeep said via IPLT20.com. 

Kuldeep Yadav then spoke about the lap shot that he successfully pulled off during the 1st innings against Rajasthan Royals. The left-hand batter explained that he noticed that the fine-leg fielder was taken up with square and deep square leg present. 

The chinaman anticipated that the bowler might come up with a slower or a bouncer and thus he tried the lap shot and it connected successfully. Kuldeep had made up his mind to play a reverse scoop off the next ball but the connection was not good enough. 

“I always think that what the bowler must be expecting and what’s the field that he has set. Obviously, the fine leg was up and square leg and deep square leg was there. I thought he can bowl a short ball or a slower one. That’s why I tried the lap shot and luckily it connected well and got a boundary."

"On the very next delivery, I tried to play a reverse scoop but it didn’t connect well but if that connected well that would’ve been a boundary too." - Kuldeep Yadav concluded.

From 9 IPL 2024 matches for the Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep Yadav has been able to scalp 14 wickets at an economy rate of 8.26 with a best of 4/55. His performances this year for Rishabh Pant's side have proved to be extremely crucial and in the remaining matches of DC, the same will be expected from Kuldeep.
