Notably, Rinku Singh didn’t get the chance to bat in the first T20I, as Abhishek Sharma’s stunning knock of 79 runs off 34 balls was enough to take the Men in Blue over the line inside 13 overs against England at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on January 22.

The Indian cricket team continued their sublime form in the second T20I in Chennai, where the hosts won the game by two wickets to take a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England. However, the tourists made brilliant comeback in the third game against India in Rajkot.

The England cricket team crushed the Men in Blue by 26 runs in Rajkot, thanks to brilliant knocks of Ben Duckett (51) and Jos Buttler (43) and collective bowling efforts from Jamie Overton (3/24), Brydon Carse (2/28), and Jofra Archer (2/33) to keep their hopes alive in the T20I series.

The way he handled that transition shows his great man-management skills: Sanjay Bangar on Suryakumar Yadav

Meanwhile, former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar has expressed his shock at Suryakumar Yadav’s promotion as India’s T20I captain, but later he realized he is the great man to lead the young troop. However, Suryakumar is currently struggling to deliver in the ongoing T20I series.

Sanjay Bangar said in the latest episode of Deep Point on Star Sports: “Honestly, I was shocked that he was elevated to captain because, until that point, Hardik Pandya was the captain-designate. But the way he handled that transition shows his great man-management skills. It’s still early days, but he’s the best fit for this young squad after the retirements of Jadeja, Kohli, and Rohit. That’s a big plus—he can be the leader of this new generation, someone who is one among them.”
