India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma has been facing a lot of criticism over the last few months for his poor outing as a batter as well as the leader. This also has seen his place in the team getting questioned as well, especially in the longest format of the game.
One of the biggest critics of Rohit Sharma has been former India National Cricket Team skipper Sunil Gavaskar. The batting great hasn't shied away from lashing out at the current Team India captain for his below-par performances because of which the team has struggled.

It all started ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 when Rohit Sharma decided to skip the first Test of the series in Perth due to the birth of his child. The batting great stated that if he wants to miss the game then he should not play the rest of the series as a skipper and let Jasprit Bumrah captain.
After Rohit joined the team for the second Test and struggled to score runs in the rest of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, Sunil Gavaskar again went hard. The India National Cricket Team skipper notably scored 31 runs at an average of around 6 in the three Tests in BGT.
When Rohit decided to drop himself for the last game, Sunil Gavaskar then raised concerns over his place. He said that the batter stepping down for one game raises big questions about his future in Test cricket. He also had said if the captain failed to score runs, he should retire.

All this hasn't gone well with skipper Rohit. As per the reports in Cricblogger, it is learned that the India National Cricket Team skipper has complained about Sunil Gavaskar to BCCI. He highlighted the external pressure that impacted his performance.
“Rohit felt that it was not necessary for Sunil Gavaskar to criticise him in that fashion and that’s why he complained to the BCCI about Gavaskar. All these added so much pressure that he was compelled to tell it all to BCCI,” said the source.

This development of Rohit Sharma complaining to BCCI has come to light after both he and Sunil Gavaskar shared the same stage at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This was because of the 50th anniversary of the stadium, where stalwarts of Mumbai Cricket were present.
Coming to Rohit Sharma, after a lean patch in international cricket, he made a return to Ranji Trophy 2024-25. The batter played for Mumbai in the game against Jammu and Kashmir. He scored 31 runs in two innings and is expected to play in the next round of the tournament as well.
