Indian Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has revealed massive information about Rohit Sharma's frustration with Rajat Patidar which led to Devdutt Padikkal's Test debut in March.

Rajat Patidar, who had made his Test debut for the Indian team during the India Vs England 5-match Test series, was replaced by Devdutt Padikkal in the last Test. Many of us are still in the bubble of thought that Patidar was dropped from the playing XI because of his poor form but the reality is something else.

Kuldeep Yadav admits that Rajat Patidar was injured and that forced Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to hand Padikkal his debut

While speaking exclusively to renowned Sports Journalist Rohit Juglan, Kuldeep Yadav made some unheard and unknown revelations. Kuldeep, after missing the 1st Test in Hyderabad, played all of the remaining 4 Tests in Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala. Thus, no one other than him will know better about Rajat Patidar's situation in the series.

The Madhya Pradesh-based batter was brought in as a replacement for Virat Kohli, who had gone on a 3-month paternity leave. In the 1st Test, KL Rahul was the one who batted in Kohli's position. However, after Rahul's injury in the 1st Test, Rajat Patidar was entrusted with the number 4 role in all of the remaining Tests in which India came out on top with brilliant wins.

But things did not go that well for Rajat Patidar. The right-hand batter, whose technique is just so pleasing to the eye, failed to score runs and cause an impact from the number 4 spot. Patidar came into the team with a lot of promise but all of that was very quick to fade away.

Despite getting off to good starts, Rajat Patidar was unable to convert them into big scores which would have given him the chance to cement himself in the XI. From the 3 Tests he played, Patidar had scores of 32 & 9 (Vizag), 5 & 0 (Rajkot), and 17 & 0 (Ranchi). In the build-up to the 5th Test at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala, Patidar was not backed to start due to his poor form.

While most of us thought that his dip in form was the reason behind his exclusion from the 5th Test, Kuldeep Yadav has revealed that he was actually injured. During net sessions, Rajat Patidar was hit with a ball on his left ankle which was already injured. That hit aggravated Patidar's pain and he was made unavailable for the final Test as a result.

Kuldeep reveals Rohit Sharma wanted to see Patidar score runs.

After finding it out, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was extremely frustrated as he wanted to give Patidar another chance in the series to score runs. Kuldeep Yadav admitted that the Indian captain has a soft corner for players and wants to back them to score runs for the country.

But since Rajat Patidar became unfit, it could not happen but the door opened up at the perfect time for Devdutt Padikkal to make his senior debut.

"This thing might not have come out but I would like to say that when Rajat Patidar got injured in Dharamsala, he (Rohit Sharma) was very frustrated. He got frustrated as to how he got injured because he had so much support, he supports every player in the dressing room."

"He wanted Patidar to score runs because he hadn't in the series previously. But that could not happen as he got unfit, he got hit with the ball on the area where had a surgery done in the past." - Kuldeep Yadav told exclusively to Rohit Juglan.
