Durban’s Super Giants have sacked Quinton de Kock as captain and have announced his replacement ahead of the upcoming season of the SA20 tournament.
The South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman led the Durban-based outfit in the inaugural edition of the SA20. De Kock failed to impress as a captain as his side could not qualify for the semifinals. Durban’s Super Giants finished at the fifth spot in the six-team competition after managing to win only 4 of their 10 league games.

They were level on points with the third and fourth-placed teams but could not progress ahead due to poor net run-rate. De Kock, however, had a good outing as a batsman. The left-handed batsman was his team’s second-highest run-scorer behind Heinrich Klaasen. In 9 innings, the South Africa star smashed 271 runs at an average of 38.57 and a strike rate of over 151.
