Sarfaraz Khan Lands In South Africa, Rumours Indicate There's A Late Surprise Entry In India's Test Squad
Sarfaraz Khan has been sidelined from the national team for a very long time now. He has performed consistently in the domestic circuit and has been knocking on the national team’s door but unfortunately, he has not been able to find a spot in the team. However, he has reached South Africa as a part of the India A team which will feature in three four-day matches against South Africa A.
Sarfaraz Khan has a golden opportunity to again bang the selectors’ door for a spot in the Indian team. If he performs in this two-match series against South Africa A then he can get the selectors to again consider him for the selection. The India A team will play three unofficial test matches against South Africa A with the first match to start on December 11.
Srikar Bharat will be leading the side in the first unofficial test. The other notable members of this squad are Abhimanyu Easwaran, Devdutt Paddikal, Sai Sudarshan, Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, Prasidh Krishna and Vidhwath Kaverappa. Apart from Sarfaraz Khan, there are three more wicket-keeping options in the squad- Srikar Bharat, Dhruv Jurel, and Pradosh Paul.

Sarfaraz Khan’s Brother Is Playing In The U-19 Asia Cup
While Sarfaraz Khan has reached South Africa, his younger brother Musheer Khan is representing the India U-19 team featuring in the ACC Youth U-19 Asia Cup. Musheer is a promising top-order batter and a left-arm spinner. Both brothers have immense talent in the field of cricket and Sarfaraz is very near to an India cap. Sarfaraz has said that he has passed on his learnings to his brother.
“I do share my experience of things so that he can learn from my mistakes too. He has the same work ethic as me and we both work hard behind the scenes. One thing I have told him is that there are no shortcuts in life and every day is a new day; so we have to keep working hard,” Sarfaraz said.
Sarfaraz Khan was the youngest player to feature in an IPL match and his brother is also following in his footsteps as he made his Ranji debut for Mumbai at the tender age of 17. It will be interesting to see both the brothers in different conditions playing for the country as Sarfaraz will be a part of India A which takes on South Africa A and Musheer is playing in Dubai for the India U-19 team in the ACC Youth U-19 Asia Cup.
