SCO vs ZIM Match Prediction- Who Will Win Scotland vs Zimbabwe 2nd T20I? Despite not playing a single T20 international for close to 2 years, Scotland took a 1-0 lead in the ongoing T20 series against Zimbabwe after beating the latter in the first game by 7 runs on Wednesday.
Scotland won the toss and opted to bat first in the first game. Though they made a forgettable start as both Munsey (1 off 2) and Coetzer (2 off 3) went back to the hut inside the first 2 overs. O Hairs ( 5 off 3) too didn’t stay too long as Scotland found themselves reeling at 17 for 3 in 2.4 overs. Berrington came at number four and looked solid right from the start.
He led the team’s recovery and remained unbeaten till the very end. Berrington added 13 runs with MacLeod (6 off 12) and 45 runs with M Cross (14 off 18) for the fourth and fifth wicket respectively. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals but Berrington held the fort at one end. He struck 7 fours and 3 sixes en-route to his 82-run knock off just 61 deliveries.
His innings helped the team post a 141-run total in the first innings. Zimbabwe wouldn’t be too disappointed with their bowling performance. M Chatara and L Jongwe both were brilliant, picking 2 wickets each. Ngarava and Masakadza picked one wicket each.
Zimbabwe needed a good start with the bat but Scotland denied them having one. Safyaan Sharif sent both Madhevere (0 off 1) and Marumani (3 off 9) inside the first three overs. Though Zimbabwe recovered well as Regis Chakabva (17 off 17) and Craig Ervine (26 off 27) added 48 runs for the third wicket. Both, however, couldn’t go on to score a big inning and got out at crucial stages in the game. Seam Williams (28 off 28) too got a great start but failed to make it big.
Milton Shumba was brilliant with the bat and waged a lone battle at the fag end of the innings. He remained unbeaten for his 45 off just 30 balls but found little support at the other end. Zimbabwe, in the end, fell 7 runs short of the target.
Safyaan Sharif was the star performer with the ball for Scotland, picking 4 for 24 in 4 overs.
