Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan is amongst the top-notch all-rounders in world cricket at the moment. At just 24, he has been key to Pakistan’s success in the Champions Trophy 2017 and helping them get to back-to-back semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.

Having played T20 cricket in all the cricket leagues barring the IPL, has allowed him to understand the game better and adjust himself accordingly. He is also the vice-captain of the side which speaks volumes about his ability as a cricketer.

Failure Can Be Catastrophic For Young Players In Our Part Of The World: Shadab Khan

“You have to boss those key moments in the pressure games to win. We have been erring in the field in those moments. Things could have been different had we played some smart cricket in the World Cup final. We are a good team but to be the champions, we will have to put in the sacrifices and do something extra,” Shadab Khan on Pakistan failing in crunch moments.

” I always think about how I can make the team win. I like to be at the forefront in pressure situations. I’m experienced enough and have enough belief to handle them myself. That is important because if a youngster fails in that situation, then it can be catastrophic to his career in our part of the world. God forbid if things go wrong, I can soak in the consequences in the aftermath. I know how to cope with it. The social media criticism can take a toll on a youngster and it’s better if I handle that” Shadab Khan told to Cricbuzz.

Pakistan have traveled to Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played in Galle from July 16-20. The second Test will be played in Colombo from July 24-28. The Test series kickstarts the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle for both teams.
