The Sunrisers Hyderabad did not have the best of seasons in IPL 2025 and are looking forward to releasing some of their very crucial players ahead of the mini-auction. SRH might be looking forward to the release of their four veteran cricketers.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad made it to the final of IPL 2024 but could not produce an equal impact in the next edition. The SRH team finished in the 6th position of the points table, with some commendable returns in the second half of the tournament.

However, the Sunrisers, who were known to score big totals, faced serious trouble with their batting order, and also their bowlers leaked a large number of runs. Hence, some changes might be made to their squad ahead of the next season.

SRH to release their two veteran pacers ahead of the mini-auction

The reports, as claimed by RevSportz reporter Rohit Juglan, said that the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad is likely to release two of its most veteran bowlers from the previous season. SRH bought Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel in the mega-auction of the IPL.

Mohammed Shami was bought for his career-high bid of INR 10 Crores after he was released by the Gujarat Titans. He received a massive amount alongside Harshal Patel, who was also bought for a whopping amount of INR 8 crores by the Sunrisers Hyderabad from the Punjab Kings.

The two could not produce anything special in the edition. Especially, Shami had a disgusting role in the team, as he gave away runs at an economy rate of nearly 11. Harshal Patel comparatively had a better season and was their highest wicket-taker with 16 wickets. The reports reveal that they might be released ahead of the mini-auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad to gain a surplus of 23 Crores in their auction purse

The Sunrisers Hyderabad retained their wicket-keeper and middle-order batter Heinrich Klassen, who was retained for a price higher than the skipper Pat Cummins. He was the costliest player in the Sunrisers camp with a whopping INR 23 Crores.

Heinrich Klassen was their highest scorer over the three seasons since IPL 2023. He was their second-highest scorer in the 2024 season, while he once again topped the list with the most runs for SRH in IPL 2025. Despite the stellar form, Klassen is likely to be released.

The Sunrisers have cited that Klassen's release would earn them a mammoth increase to their purse. This could help them have some interesting bids in the upcoming mini-auction.

Sunrisers to continue with Pat Cummins and Travis Head for IPL 2026

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been captained by Australian cricketer Pat Cummins over the years since he won the World Cup title in India. Cummins led them to a final in the 2024 season.

Travis Head, on the other hand, is the seasoned opener in the side. He has scored several runs for them and continues to be part of their team for the upcoming season as well. They might remain as the two big names within the team for the SRH team.
