Sri Lanka Cricket Announces 22-Man Squad For Test Series Against West Indies

As many as three uncapped players were included in Sri Lanka’s squad for their upcoming Test series at home against West Indies. The 22-man squad will play a 2-match Test series, with the first Test starting on November 21.
The uncapped players in the squad are batsman, Kamil Mishara, leg-spinner Suminda Lakshan, and pace bowler Chamika Gunasekera. The trio has performed well enough in the domestic squad that the selectors had to stand up and take note of them.

The series marks the return of experienced all-rounder, Angelo Mathews, who had earlier resolved the contract issues with the Sri Lankan board. As expected, the Lankan squad is filled with spinners, and they will look to the field at least two specialist spinners for the first Test in Galle.
Having impressed in the white-ball formats, Charith Asalanka and Chamika Karunaratne have also been included in the side. However, Dimuth Karunaratne will be the captain of the Test team, and he will also be relied upon to provide stable starts at the top.
