Sri Lanka Women's Squad For ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 Announced

On Wednesday, February 1, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a strong 15-player squad of the Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in South Africa.

The Sri Lanka Women’s squad for the World Cup, which is all set to be led by regular captain and star batter Chamari Athapaththu, features all the notable names except Hasini Perera.

Hasini Perera will not be available for selection as she has been ruled out of the tournament due to a finger injury. SLC has named Sathya Sandeepani as a replacement for Hasini Perera in the squad.

“The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee selected the following Sri Lanka Women’s Squad to take part in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, which will be held in South Africa. #T20WorldCup,” Sri Lanka Cricket tweeted on Wednesday, February 1.

Sri Lanka Women’s Set To Play Two Warm-Up Matches

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 will be the eighth edition of the competition and it will be played from February 10 to 26 in South Africa. The Lankan Team will commence their campaign with the game against South Africa on February 10 in Cape Town.

Ahead of the game against South Africa, the Chamari Athapaththu-led side will play two warm-up matches – first against Ireland on February 6 in Stellenbosch and then against West Indies on February 8 in Cape Town.
