The 15th Season Of The IPL Will Take Place In India, It Will Be More Exciting With New Teams Joining – Jay Shah

The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jay Shah has confirmed that the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is IPL 2022 will be held in India.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 were held in United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to the Covid-19 scare in India. However, this won’t be the case with IPL 2022.

On Saturday during an event in Chennai Jay Shah said that the Indian Premier League 2022 will take place in India and it will be more exciting with the addition of two new teams Ahmedabad and Lucknow. He said:

“I know you are all eagerly waiting to watch Chennai Super Kings play at Chepauk. The moment is not very far, the 15th season of the IPL will take place in India and it will be more exciting with new teams joining. We have a mega auction coming up to see what the new combination looks like.”

Talking about Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) success over the years Jay Shah gave the credit to the owners of the team for managing the team properly. He asserted:

 “A lot of credit for CSK’s success over the years has to go to N Srinivasan as he has stood by his team in the difficult times. I must add that Kasi Viswanathan is like a glue that binds the team together. Season by season he has navigated the team.”

The BCCI secretary further added that no one takes CSK lightly as they have MS Dhoni in the team who is the backbone of the side. Jay Shah also praised Dhoni and said he is the most successful captain produced by India. He stated:

“How can one take CSK lightly when you have a captain like MS Dhoni. Dhoni is the heartbeat and backbone of CSK. Mahi is the most successful captain India has ever produced. The bond he has made and the legacy he has created will stay for ages,”

Meanwhile, Under MS Dhoni Chennai Super Kings won their 4th Indian Premier League title in the 14th edition of the league. Also, fans can expect to see MS Dhoni playing for Chennai in the Indian Premier League 2022. As in a post-match presentation during the Indian Premier League Dhoni told host broadcasters that he hasn’t left his legacy behind yet. He asserted:

“Again I’ve said it before, it depends on BCCI. With two new teams coming in, we have to decide what is good for CSK. It’s not about me being there in top-three or four. It’s about making a strong core to ensure the franchise doesn’t suffer. The core group, we have to have a hard look to see who can contribute for the next 10 years,”

“You can be proud of the legacy you have left behind”, Dhoni responded, “Still I haven’t left behind.”
