Updated ICC World Test Championship Points Table After AUS vs WI 2nd Test, WTC Table and Rankings

Australia still holds the top spot in ICC World Test Championship points table 2023-25 after their Test series against West Indies. AUS vs WI 2nd Test was a nail-biting encounter. West Indies showed a marvellous form to outplay Australia in the match. In the end, West Indies won by 8 runs. However, the result didn’t make huge changes in ICC World Test Championship points table.
The AUS vs WI 2nd Test is been the most exciting match of 2024 so far. West Indies batted first in the match. They piled up 311-10 in 1st innings. In response, Australia posted 289-9 (d) in 1st innings. Later, West Indies was bowled out for 192-10 in the 2nd innings. Australia had a target of 216.
While the chase looked easy at the start, Shamar Joseph showed an impeccable piece of bowling on Day 4 to drive West Indies to victory. He hunted 7 wickets in the match to outplay the Aussies in the final innings. Below is the updated ICC World Test Championship table after the AUS vs WI 2nd Test.

(In the ICC WTC 2023-2025, teams will get 12 points for a win, 4 for a draw, and 6 for a tie. For slow over-rates teams will lose one championship point for each over-short. Teams will be ranked on the percentage of points won.)
Bangladesh takes the last spot with a win percentage of 0 in ICC World Test Championship points table. They have lost 2 games out of 2 games. West Indies still take the 8th spot after 1-1 tie against Australia. England takes the 7th spot with a PCT of 15.0. However, the IND vs ENG 1st Test result will affect their win percentage.

Earlier, West Indies took the 7th spot in the past with a win percentage of 11.1. They have won 1 match, lost 2, and drawn 1 out of 4. Pakistan takes 6th spot with a win percentage of 36.66. Pakistan has won 2 games and lost 3 out of 5. They lost their previous Test series to Australia 3-0.
Bangladesh takes the 5th spot with a PCT of 50.0. Out of 2 matches, the Asian team has won 1 and lost 1. New Zealand takes the 4th spot with a win percentage of 50.0. New Zealand has also won 1 match and lost 1 out of 2. South Africa steals the 3rd spot with a win percentage of 50.0. South Africa’s previous series against India tied at 1-1. The above three teams have played just 1 series in the ICC World Test Championship so far.

Meanwhile, the ongoing India vs England 1st Test will lead to some changes in the ICC World Test Championship points table soon. The match is expected to witness the result on Day 4 i.e. Sunday, January 28.
