Former India National Cricket Team captain Kris Srikkanth has brutally trolled the Australia National Cricket Team star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell following his failure in the fourth T20I.
Kris Srikkanth mocked Glenn Maxwell, saying that he shakes in his boots in fear whenever the India National Cricket Team spinner Varun Chakravarthy comes in to bowl to him.
Varun Chakravarthy bamboozled Glenn Maxwell in the 4th T20I.
The explosive all-rounder Glenn Maxwell doesn't like batting against Varun Chakravarthy, and this is a well-known fact.
He just made his comeback to the Australian setup in the 4th T20I against India, and unfortunately for him, he had to face Varun Chakravarthy at the Gold Coast Stadium (Carrara), Gold Coast.
During the run chase, Glenn Maxwell was only able to score 2 runs off 4 balls and got dismissed in the 15th over. That over was bowled by none other than Varun Chakravarthy.
On the last ball of the 15th over, he bowled a googly on the length outside off-stump, and Maxwell made room to slap it, but missed it and saw his stumps getting destroyed. It was the sixth time in nine innings that Glenn Maxwell fell to Varun Chakravarthy.
Glenn Maxwell shakes in his boots whenever Varun Chakaravarthy comes on to bowl - Kris Srikkanth
In a video shared on his official YouTube channel, Kris Srikkanth said that Varun gobbles up Maxwell like a piece of cake whenever he gets the opportunity to bowl to him. He said:
"Glenn Maxwell shakes in his boots whenever Varun Chakaravarthy comes on to bowl. Varun picks up certain batters like a rabbit. Especially when he sees Maxwell, he gobbles him up like a piece of cake."
The former India skipper also slammed Suryakumar Yadav for moving to No.4 in the batting order and urged him to bat permanently at No.3. He said:
"The T20 World Cup is around the corner. So he doesn't have much time. He has to regain his form and get used to the No. 3 position. You cannot keep on shifting and rotating the order. There has to be a set order with the limited time before the World Cup. They escaped today and the trial and error philosophy is fine for now. But at some point there has to be a conclusion. Maybe from the South Africa series as it's in India," he said.
But he'll get his confidence only if he's given the ball regularly - Kris Srikkanth on Washington Sundar
Kris Srikkanth further slammed the treatment of Washington Sundar by the Indian team. He said that Sundar is a spin-bowling all-rounder and he should be given opportunities with the ball in all the matches, and his batting should be seen as an extra luxury.
"What I don't understand is he is playing as a spin-bowling all-rounder. He is a spinner who can bat and not a batter that bowls spin. He first came into the Indian side for his spin-bowling only with his opening spells for Pune in the IPL. That's how Washington Sundar came into prominence," said Srikkanth.
"Yes, he has scored a lot of runs and is basically an opening batter. But he'll get his confidence only if he's given the ball regularly. Last match he didn't bowl at all and this match it was hardly an over. Through this plan, India are indirectly saying he'll not be in the 11 for the T20 World Cup because Kuldeep Yadav will be back on Indian pitches. This feels like a signal to that."
