Ace Indian batter Virat Kohli achieved a significant milestone with the bat during the third and final ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli completed 1300 fours in the 50-over format in international cricket and became the second Indian cricketer after "Master Blaster" Sachin Tendulkar.
Virat Kohli had underwhelming performances in the recently concluded three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. The batter managed to score just 58 runs in three innings at an average of 19.33 and a strike rate of 84.06, with a best score of 24. Kohli was dismissed LBW in all three matches by different spin bowlers.

Virat Kohli achieved the milestone during the ODI series decider against Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7. The ace batter completed the landmark after scoring a boundary off Asitha Fernando. He hit a boundary on the fifth ball of the seventh over during the run chase.
The 35-year-old joined an elite group of players, Sachin Tendulkar (2016 fours), Sanath Jayasuriya (1500), and Kumar Sangakkara (1385), who have scored more than 1300 boundaries in ODI matches.
Virat Kohli scored two more boundaries before being dismissed by left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage in the 11th over. Kohli made 20 runs off 18 deliveries, including four boundaries. The right-handed batter registered scores of 24 (32) and 14 (19) in the first two matches of the recently concluded ODI series.
Rohit Sharma and Co Suffer 110-Run Defeat in Series Decider
The Rohit Sharma-led team was bowled out for 138 runs in 26.1 overs during the series decider. Rohit Sharma (35 off 20), Washington Sundar (30 off 25), and Riyan Parag (15 off 13) were the only other batters to cross the double-digit mark. Notably, the Men in Blue scored 67 runs during the powerplay.
Dunith Wellalage took five wickets, while Jeffrey Vandersay and Maheesh Theekshana secured two wickets each. Asitha Fernando claimed the wicket of Shubman Gill, which initiated the collapse of India's batting lineup.
Earlier, the home team posted a total of 248 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs after winning the toss. Avishka Fernando was the top scorer with 96 runs off 102 balls. Pathum Nissanka scored 45 runs, and Kusal Mendis added 59 runs. Kamindu Mendis scored an unbeaten 23 runs off 19 balls.
Rohit Sharma finished the series as India's top scorer with 157 runs from three innings at an average of 52.33 and a strike at 141.44. Axar Patel scored 79 runs, while Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill added 58 and 57 runs, respectively.
