Veteran India batter Virat Kohli has achieved another massive milestone in his glorious international career. Kohli has completed 12000 runs at home and achieved this feat during the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai.

Kohli has become only the second cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone. Over the years, Virat Kohli has achieved several records and is regarded as one of the best of this generation.

His record speaks volumes of his greatness as he has been a consistent performer in all the formats of the game. He is likely to play a key role in India's upcoming Test season in which they will play 10 Tests in four months.

Virat Kohli completes 12000 runs at home

During the second innings of the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai, Kohli completed 12000 runs at home. Only Sachin Tendulkar had achieved this impressive feat earlier and Kohli becomes the second man to do so.

Kohli has now scored 12004 runs at an average of 58.84 at home. He has 38 hundreds and 59 fifties to his name. Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar is on top of the list and is way ahead with 14192 runs at an average of 50.32 with 42 hundreds and 70 fifties.

Apart from Tendulkar and Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma, and Virender Sehwag are in the top five of this list. Among the top five players, only Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the active players. While Kohli is second on this list, Rohit is fourth as he has scored 8690 runs so far at an average of 49.65.

Disappointing match for Virat Kohli with the bat

While Kohli achieved this unique feat, he will be disappointed with his performance as he didn't have a great time with the bat. He was dismissed for just 6 in the first innings by Hasan Mahmud as he tried to go for a shot away from his body.

The 35-year-old looked in better touch in the second innings but missed a straight delivery by offspinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz and was trapped on pads in front of the stumps. After a brief appeal, the umpire gave it out lbw.

Kohli contemplated with Shubman Gill about the review but decided against it in the end. Later, the snicko showed an inside edge as the ball went past his inside edge before hitting the pads. It was his second successive low score in the match as he was out for 17.

India finished the day at 81-3 after bowling Bangladesh out for just 149 in the first innings. The Men in Blue now lead by 308 runs with 7 wickets in hand. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are the unbeaten batters at the crease.
