Royal Challengers Bengaluru mentor Dinesh Karthik has delivered a crucial fitness update on Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. While Virat Kohli played in RCB's first game of the season, Bhuvneshwar missed the clash last week.
Bhuvneshwar was one of the costliest players in the mega auction as the Bengaluru-based outfit paid INR 10.75 crore to secure his services. While the franchise would have liked to avail his services right from the start, he was unavailable for the tournament opener.
Before the start of the game, the official X account of the franchise revealed that a minor injury was the reason behind Bhuvneshwar's unavailability. There has been little clarity over his injury status since then.
Virat Kohli's injury, on the other hand, is not known to many but RevSportz's Rohit Juglan has disclosed that the former India skipper was complaining about his back while speaking to Harshit Rana after the first game of the ongoing IPL 2025.

RCB mentor delivers update on Virat Kohli and Bhuvneshwar Kumar:
Juglan stated that he asked Dinesh Karthik about the injury status of Bhuvneshwar and Kohli during the press conference. In reply, the former India wicketkeeper-batsman admitted that there are indeed injury concerns inside the RCB dressing room but did not sound too worried.
Speaking about Bhuvneshwar, Karthik said that the pacer has been bowling in the nets although he did not disclose the date of his return. Karthik also delivered an update about Kohli, saying that the star batsman was indeed facing an issue in his back but was confident that the veteran batsman would continue playing.
Meanwhile, RCB did not miss Bhuvneshwar's services much in their first game of the season but will be hoping that he recovers soon. In his absence, the three-time IPL finalists thrashed defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets to start their campaign in a stunning fashion.
Batting first, KKR were on 107/1 in 10 overs and were looking destined to post a 200-plus total. However, RCB bowlers came up with a brilliant display to restrict KKR to 174/8. In reply, the Bengaluru-based outfit chased down the total inside 17 overs with Phil Salt and Kohli scoring fifties. They will be facing Chennai Super Kings on Friday (March 28) in their next game.
