Virat Kohli Is Very Down To Earth And Strong-Willed: Sarandeep Singh

Indian captain Virat Kohli might be the best cricketer going around and has etched his legacy for many more years to come. However, Virat Kohli’s attitude remains largely under focus, mainly due to his brat-type behaviour and the arrogant outlook towards the outside. But former selector Sarandeep Singh has opened up on a 32-year old’s side of behaviour during team and selectors’ meetings.

Having made his international debut in 2008, Virat Kohli has come a long way in establishing himself as the best batsman. Kohli is currently the only player to average 50 across formats and has 22000 international runs alongside 70 centuries. But the Delhi-born charismatic cricketer has also been involved in instances where he displayed his arrogant behaviour and experts have questioned his attitude.

Nevertheless, Sarandeep Singh revealed that Virat Kohli is an exceptionally good listener. Sarandeep stated that Kohli might appear hot and arrogant since he is always charged up while batting and fielding; however, it is not the case. As far as the selection meetings go, the right-handed batsman is always polite, willing to listen to everyone and then arrives at a decision.

“Whenever Virat comes, team meetings used to go on for 1, 1.5 hours. Virat is a good listener. I don’t know what people think about him. If you see him in the matches, he’s always charged up while batting and fielding. So it seems like he’s always hot and arrogant, and doesn’t listen to anyone. But no, he’s as down-to-earth as he seems aggressive on the field. In selection meetings, he was so polite. He always used to listen to everyone and then finally come to a decision,” Singh told Sportskeeda.

At Virat Kohli’s home, there are no servants: Sarandeep Singh

The 41-year old further revealed that at Virat’s home there are no servants as he and his wife serve food to everyone. The Indian captain mixes up well, chatting with everyone, and going out for dinner. Sarandeep underlined that all the players have immense respect for him, being a down to earth and strong-minded person.

“At his home, there are no servants. He and his wife will serve food to everyone. What else do you want? Virat always sits with you, chats with you, and goes out for dinner with you. All the other players have so much respect for him. He’s very down-to-earth and strong-willed,” he added.
