India captain Virat Kohli is currently in quarantine in Mumbai along with the men’s and women’s teams before their UK tour. While idling time in the hotel, Virat engaged in a Q&A session with his fans on Instagram, and amongst many of the queries, he was asked about a bowler from the past who would have troubled him.

Virat Kohli will be leading the Indian team against New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) match to be played from June 18 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, England. And then India will stay back to play the hosts England in a much-anticipated five-match Test series.

Kohli has shown an obvious weakness against left-armers be it Junaid Khan, Mohammad Amir, or Trent Boult in international and IPL cricket over the years. Therefore, Wasim Akram, who is regarded as one of the best fast bowlers of all time and the best left-arm pacer in the world, would definitely have Kohli’s number if the two had clashed today.

The contest between the two would have been mouth-watering, even more so with the change of rules in modern-day cricket. Would Wasim had gotten the reverse swing with the white ball in ODIs with the two new balls rule and how beneficial would DRS have been if the two giants of their eras had met today.

Wasim Akram had made his Test debut in 1984 for Pakistan against New Zealand and picked a 10-wicket haul in only his second Test. Learning the tricks and trade of the game from greats like Imran Khan, and Javed Miandad, Wasim quickly moved up the ladder in the fast bowling world and became a force to be reckoned with.
