India captain Rohit Sharma was in a jubilant mood during his interaction with Prime Minister Narendra after the team's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph. The skipper came up with hilarious replies after he was asked some serious questions by the head of the country.

Rohit Sharma was extremely top-notch as the captain of the team. Everything he touched turned into gold as the Indian team came up with a sensational performance in the entire tournament and won the trophy without losing a single game, becoming the first team to the win tournament undefeated.

Rohit Sharma led the front as he made sure that he showed the path to his team and took them to victory after 11 years in ICC events. The India captain ended the tournament as the leading run-getter with 257 runs to his name and gave his team a powerful start in almost every game that he played.

In this World Cup, I can confidently say that there was a lot of desperation and hunger among the people - Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma further talked about his journey from being a young player in 2007 to winning the World Cup as captain in 2024. He opened up about how he realized the importance of winning the World and explained how everyone in the team had the same passion and hunger this time around. He explained:

"In 2007, I was the youngest player and in 2024, I became the captain of the Vijay team. Sir, to be honest, when I joined the team for the first time in 2007, we did a tour in Ireland where Rahul was the captain. After that, we went straight to South Africa for the World Cup. There, we won the World Cup for the first time. When we came to India after winning the World Cup, we were on our way to Mumbai. It took us 5 hours to reach Wankhede Stadium from the airport. After 2-3 days, I realised that winning the World Cup is very easy.

"But after that, we kept coming to the World Cup. Many times, we reached close to the World Cup, but could not win it. In this World Cup, I can confidently say that there was a lot of desperation and hunger among the people. When we went to the West Indies, it was very difficult. When we were playing cricket for the first time in New York, cricket was never played there. The ground was not good for practice. But none of the boys paid attention to how we would play the final in Barbados. It feels good to be the captain of such a team . Everyone has the same goal, how to win," he concluded.
