Former England veteran Jonathan Trott was seen in the Afghanistan dugout as he was caught on camera spraying some mosquito repellent onto his face as Afghanistan reclaimed the second-Asian team title with a win over Pakistan in the tri-series match.
Cricket has always been witness to several bizarre incidents, and one such incident occurred in the recent game between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Tri-series, which is being played in the UAE as a precursor to the Asia Cup preparations.
Afghanistan and Pakistan both turned to the UAE to conduct a tri-series in the shortest format of the game, which could give the home side an Asia Cup preparation, while the other two visiting nations could adjust to the ground conditions of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The bizarre incident took place during the 19th over of the game between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where Haris Rauf was chasing the massive need of 37 runs off the last 9 balls, facing Fazalhaq Farooqi with the ball.
The cameras were then placed on former England batter and current Afghanistan head coach, Jonathan Trott, who was sitting in the dugout with a Mosquito repellent in his hand. He was seen laughing with the rest of the team officials and suddenly sprayed the Mosquito repellent onto his own face.
The incident left the dugout bursting with cheers of laughter, and Trott himself giggled throughout the incident. Some on social media platforms wrote that it was a sign of the Afghan coach killing off the Green mosquitoes (indicating the Pakistan team).

Afghanistan reclaims top spot with win over Pakistan
Just before the start of the series, a Pakistani reporter had claimed Afghanistan as the second-best Asian side following India, which left Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha a bit surprised, and his reactions went viral on the internet.
As the Tri-series began, Agha himself led from the front to guide Pakistan to a massive win over Afghanistan and proved which of the two is the better team. However, as said, cricket is unpredictable, and one game cannot seal the fate.
Afghanistan won the latest encounter with some great bowling performances from the three spinners, Noor Ahmed, Rashid Khan, and veteran Mohammed Nabi. While Ibrahim Zadran and Sediqullah Atal did the scoring with the bat. Afghans reclaimed their second-best team title with an 18-run win over the neighbouring rivals.
Jonathan Trott has shaped Afghanistan's glorious run in International Cricket
England great Jonathan Trott was appointed the Afghanistan head coach back in 2022, and ever since his appointment, he has worked wonders for the Afghanistan team, who already had a bunch of quality cricketers.
His contract was extended till the end of 2025, after having a stellar show with the national side. Jonathan Trott led the Afghans to their most successful ICC World Cup, where they won against teams like England and Pakistan.
He was the coach who led them to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where they lost to South Africa. This was followed by the Afghans qualifying for their first-ever ICC Champions Trophy campaign.
