India Rohit Sharma wasn't impressed with his keeper Rishabh Pant in the ongoing game against Australia in the T20 World 2024. The Super 8 game of the tournament between the teams is underway at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium at Gros Islet in St Lucia.
After India posted a gigantic total of 205 rums on the board, Arshdeep Singh made sure that he took his team off to a flying start with the ball. The left-arm pacer removed David Warner for 6 runs in the opening over, giving joy to the fans.
In the very next over, Jasprit Bumrah complimented him well and also had an opportunity to take the wicket but the chance was messed up by the keeper-batter Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.
During the 4th ball of the second over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a delivery on a length that climbed up scarily onto Mitchell Marsh on the body. The batter got in an awkward position to play the pull and gloved it to the left of Pant.
It seemed that it would be an easy catch for Rishabh Pant and India would get their second wicket. But this wasn't the case as the keeper seemed to have just lost his footing and slipped a bit. That is what stopped him from fully committing towards a catch and the ball landed in a safe area.
Watching Rishabh Pant making a mess of the catch, India captain Rohit Sharma was furious as he almost was certain that he got the second wicket inside two overs. But as he saw the catch falling in no man's land, he was livid with the effort and went on to abuse and scold keeper-batter.
