Ashwin and Kuldeep shared nine wickets between them, Ashwin on one end picked up a fifer whereas Kuldeep ended up with a four-wicket haul.

Commentator Dinesh Karthik was able to decode what Rohit Sharma said to Sarfaraz Khan. As per him, Rohit said, ‘Aye bhai hero nahi banne ka, wait for your helmet’, which meant, ‘No need to become a hero and wait for your helmet’.

India began Day 3 on a strong note, with wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel and his partner Kuldeep Yadav batting without pressure. Kuldeep, who is not a specialized batsman, played 113 balls and made 28 runs. James Anderson removed him.

Before being dismissed, Kuldeep stitched together 76 runs off 202 balls with Jurel, putting the opposition under pressure. Jurel, on the other hand, played some nice shots and scored his first Test half-century. Akash Deep was unable to stay at the crease for long and was removed by Shoaib Bashir, resulting in his maiden Test wicket.

Dhruv Jurel, on the other hand, fought hard and scored 90 runs off 149 balls. He hit six fours and four sixes during his time at the crease. Finally, Jurel lost his wicket to English spinner Tom Hartley. Jurel fell short of a well-deserved century after leading India from 219/7 to 307 runs in response to England’s 353 runs in the first innings.

Dhruv Jurel received a standing ovation from the Ranchi fans, while his teammates praised his batting performance in the dressing room.

Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian spinner, put England on the back foot early in their second innings by capturing three wickets in rapid succession. Ashwin dismissed the dangerous man Ben Duckett for 15 runs after catching him at short leg by Sarfaraz Khan, and he struck again on the following ball to eliminate Ollie Pope for a golden duck. Ashwin added insult to injury by catching Joe Root in front for 11 runs, reducing England to 65/3. Root was the centurion in the first inning and finished unblemished with 122 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav started his search for wickets by removing English opener Zak Crawley for 60 off 91 balls. The ball was pitched outside the line of the off stump and smacked the middle stump. Crawley was defeated by both turn and bounce and had to go to the locker room. Ben Stokes became Yadav’s second victim when he became overconfident while protecting the ball, scoring four runs off thirteen deliveries. Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Jonny Bairstow on the very first ball after tea.

Tom Hartley became the third English batter to be dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. Hartley sought to attack the left-arm wrist spinner, but Sarfaraz Khan caught it at long-on. Kuldeep caught Ollie Robinson in front for a duck to finish his four-wicket haul.

Ravichandran Ashwin completed the English innings by taking the final two English wickets, dismissing Ben Foakes and James Anderson for 7 and 0 runs, respectively. Finally, England could only manage 145 runs and gave India a 192-run goal to chase in their second innings.
