Indian batsman Ishan Kishan took on part-time bowling duties during the match between Jharkhand and Hyderabad in the All India Buchi Babu Invitation Cricket Tournament 2024. Ishan Kishan became the latest Indian player to roll his arm over, and the video of his bowling has gone viral on social media.
Ishan Kishan has had a rollercoaster ride over the last few months. The 26-year-old was omitted from the BCCI’s central contracts list after not participating in domestic cricket. He was also left out of the national team for a recent series. However, he has returned to red-ball cricket in the Buchi Babu Tournament.
The left-handed batter scored a double century for Jharkhand in his first match of the tournament. He aimed to maintain this form in the next game against the Hyderabad Cricket Association. However, he scored just one run from 11 balls before getting out in the second match against Hyderabad.

Jharkhand struggled as Hyderabad seemed poised to take a lead on Day 2, following a poor batting performance by Kishan and his team. Hyderabad scored 207 runs for the loss of seven wickets after 64 overs. The Jharkhand skipper opted to use right-arm off-spin from around the wicket against T Ravi Teja.
Kishan controlled the batters with his flight and varied pace. The part-time spinner gave away five runs in two overs without taking any wickets. The video of his bowling has gone viral on social media.

There has been notable encouragement for batters to bowl under Gautam Gambhir's early tenure as India's head coach. Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav took on bowling roles during the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Rishabh Pant also bowled in the ongoing Delhi Premier League.
Jharkhand Lost To Hyderabad In Recent Match
The Jharkhand cricketer has not bowled for the national team or in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but has bowled five overs in first-class cricket. He conceded 19 runs at an economy rate of 3.80 and didn't take a wicket.
Ishan Kishan is expected to make his comeback to the national team. He played a key role in Jharkhand's victory over Madhya Pradesh. The southpaw scored a century and delivered a crucial unbeaten innings during the chase.
The Jharkhand skipper won the toss and chose to bat against Hyderabad. However, Jharkhand was bowled out for just 178 runs after a five-wicket haul by Tanay Thyagrajan. Sharandeep Singh scored 78 runs during the first innings.
Hyderabad scored 293 in their first innings with half-centuries from Rahul Singh (56) and CV Milind (58). Jharkhand only managed 140 in their second innings. Hyderabad chased the target of 26 runs and secured victory by reaching the target in just the fourth over of their second innings of the match.
