Watch: Kevin Pietersen calls Ambati Rayudu 'joker' on live TV after KKR's win over SRH

Kevin Pietersen could not stop himself from taking a dig at Ambati Rayudu for changing his outfit after the final of the recently concluded IPL 2024. Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad in the title decider on Sunday (May 26) to clinch the IPL title for the third time.

KKR thoroughly dominated the contest and completely outplayed SRH to win the final by eight wickets. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first but it did not take him long to regret the call. Mitchell Starc dismissed Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi while Vaibhav Arora sent back Travis Head as KKR reduced SRH to 21 for 3 inside the powerplay.

SRH just could not recover from those early setbacks as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, even the 100-run mark was looking like a distant dream for them but a 24-run knock from Cummins helped them post a respectable 113.

In reply, KKR were off to a poor start as well as Sunil Narine was out for just 6. However, Venkatesh Iyer scored a whirlwind fifty to power KKR to a thumping win. Riding on his unbeaten 52-run knock from just 26 balls, KKR chased down the total inside 11 overs by losing just two wickets.

Kevin Pietersen makes fun of Ambati Ryaudu:

After the final ended, Kevin Pietersen decided to have some fun at the expense of Ambati Rayudu. It all started after the former India batter changed his outfit from orange to blue as soon as the game ended. Rayudu is from Hyderabad and might have worn the orange dress to support his local team. However, his decision to change it as soon as the game ended did not impress Pietersen and he made sure to bring it up.

As the former England captain pointed it out, presenter Mayanti Langer walked up to him and shook his hands before saying: "Thank you for bringing up the fact that he's changed from orange to blue."

Pietersen then called Rayudu a joker, saying: "The audacity. I have at least held firm. I've owned it. You are a joker. 

Rayudu then decided to issue a clarification, saying: "I am supporting both the teams. I am supporting good cricket.
