KL Rahul was flabbergasted at the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal during the first Test between India and Bangladesh at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Rahul was shocked when Jaiswal looked for a quick single out of nowhere but both the batters survived a run-out scare.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed started the 32nd over of India's first innings. He bowled a good length ball on off stump and Jaiswal, who was in good touch, punched the ball straight on the up towards mid-off.

However, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto dived to his left to save a certain boundary. Jaiswal, who was looking for a quick single, left the crease early but KL Rahul at the non-striker's end sent him back in time.

Rahul's decision to deny the run was correct as Shanto was quick and threw the ball toward the striker's end.

But Jaiswal had just made his ground and was safe. After the incident, Rahul was flabbergasted at Jaiswal and seemed to suggest that there was no run there. Even Jaiswal acknowledged it back with a thumbs up.

Yashasvi Jaiswal fighting a lone battle

Yashasvi Jaiswal is fighting a lone battle for India as Bangladesh's quicks enjoyed the pace and bounce on offer in Chennai. He has already completed his fifty under testing conditions against an in-form bowling line-up.

India will hope for him to go on to make a big score. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in fine form in the last few Tests. He played in India's previous Test series against England which was played almost 6 months ago.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 712 runs in 9 innings at an average of 89 with two hundreds and 3 fifties. The left-handed opener was easily the highest run-getter in the series and played a key role in India's series win.

Meanwhile, this is KL Rahul's first Test match since the Hyderabad Test played against England earlier this year. After the first Test against England, Rahul got injured and was ruled out of the series. Rahul had a tussle for the middle order spot with Sarfaraz Khan but in the end, he was picked for the important No. 5 position.

India rocked early by Hasan Mahmud

Earlier, India's top order was rocked early Bangladesh's opening bowlers. Hasan Mahmud, in particular, was brilliant and got a lot of help from the pitch and conditions on offer. Mahmud firstly dismissed India's captain Rohit Sharma when he had him caught at second slip.

Hasan Mahmud did not stop here and had Shubman Gill caught down the leg side for a duck. Mahmud's confidence was sky-high and he picked up the big wicket of Virat Kohli when he had him nicking to Litton Das behind the wickets.

A brilliant partnership between Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal followed but Mahmud came back into the attack to dismiss the counter-attacking Pant for 39. The wicketkeeper-batter struck 6 fours during his knock.
