Young allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed a stunning six off the bowling of Mitchell Marsh during the first Test between Australia and India at Perth. Reddy hit this six off a helicopter shot, which is the favorite shot of the legendary India captain MS Dhoni.
During the last ball of the 127th over of India's second innings, Mitchell Marsh bowled a ball on Nitish Kumar Reddy's pads. The allrounder obliged and played a terrific helicopter shot with a full whip of his bat over deep backward square leg.
Interestingly, the ball carried over the boundary for a six. It was Reddy's first six of the innings and he made his intentions clear with this shot. With India already in great position, Reddy had the license to go after the bowlers and collect as many runs as he can.

This shot is known for the former India captain MS Dhoni's hitting skills. Dhoni often used to play the helicopter shot and was the first to introduce the shot. He has played this shot a no. of times in international cricket as well as the IPL.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is known to play an aggressive brand of cricket. His batting style suited well to India's position as well as they were looking to accelerate.
This six got Reddy going along as he started showing his aggressive intent. He smashed 3 consecutive fours off Marsh's next over. The youngster finished unbeaten on 38 off 27 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Nitish Kumar Reddy shines on Test debut
Given he was on his Test debut, it was a brilliant and a confident knock from Nitish Kumar Reddy as it took India to a great second innings total. He had also top-scored for India in the first innings when he scored a fine 41 off 59 balls.
The 21-year-old is usually an aggressive batter and he displayed his shots in this little knock. He made his name through IPL 2024 where he played impressive knocks for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Despite having a little amount of experience in first-class cricket, Reddy was selected for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 based on his skills and talent. He was even talked upon highly by the team's bowling coach Morne Morkel before the Perth Test.
Great partnership with Virat Kohli
Reddy formed a great partnership with Virat Kohli in the end. Both the batters stitiched together an unbeaten partnership of 77 runs as India declared on 487-5, thus setting Australia a mammoth target of 534 runs to win.
Kohli finally completed a well deserved hundred as he reached the three-figure mark in style off a sweep shot for four. He remained unbeaten on 100 off 143 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.
