The second game of the Ashes 2023 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London concluded on a high note for the Australian cricket team as they won the game by the margin of 43 runs and took a 2-0 lead. They played like champions and looked at the top of the game for all five days.
But Australia had to face backlash as well for the controversial run-out of Jonny Bairstow. Many fans and pundits criticized them for not upholding the spirit of the game. Keeper Alex Carey affected the direct hit as the batter left the crease following the delivery.

Amid all the talks about this, a reporter taunted Australian skipper Pat Cummins and while referring to Alex Carey’s run out he asked if would Australia use non-striker run-outs and underarm bowling as well.
Pat Cummins was quick to respond to the query and he rather gave a save replying saying that Australia would use non-striker run-outs and underarm bowling if England kept offering flat wickets in the remaining three Tests of the 2023 Ashes.

Ashes 2023: Ben Stokes Plays blinder but fails to take his team home vs Australia
England skipper Ben Stokes was the shining light for the team as he played a blinder of an inning and almost took his side home. He came to bat when his side lost four quick wickets and found themselves tumbling at 45/4 while chasing the target of 371 runs. The all-rounder soaked in all the pressure and played some blistering shots.
Ben Stokes lived up to the expectations and ignited the hopes of English fans. But the main highlight of his innings was his batting with tailenders. He pressed the accelerator and smashed the Australian bowlers all over the park. The all-rounder scored 155 runs in 214 balls. But after his wicket, the team lost wickets quickly and lost the game by 43 runs.
