Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Phil Salt came up with a massive effort with the bat during the game against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the teams is taking place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Phil Salt, who opened the batting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, took his team off to a flying start with the bat. The England National Cricket Team batter looked in threatening mode right from the start as he took attack to the bowlers right from the start.

Salt's best came in the over of Mitchell Starc when he assaulted the pacer. The opening batter started the over with a massive six. The pacer bowled a full ball and the batter brought his wrists into play on the shoveled drive. He picked the length early and then hammered it over mid-on for a maximum.

On the second ball of the over, Mitchell Starc bowled a fuller length delivery and wide of off. Salt threw his hands on the drive and then carved it over backward point to slam a four. The same result unfolded for him on the next ball as he hit another boundary, but this time into the gap wide of mid-on.

Salt then came up with another magical boundary on the fourth ball of the over, which was a no-ball. The pacer bowled a pitched-up delivery, and Salt swung through the line as he sliced it uppishly and to the left of the diving fielder at mid-off for four.

Then on the free hit, Mitchell Starc bowled a back of a length and just outside off. Phil Salt again swung across the line and, this time ended up getting a fat top edge that went sailing over the keeper's head and the ropes for six. The next ball saw the batter taking a single through leg byes.

And Virat Kohli, who was on strike, ensured that he ended the over on high. The fast bowler bowled a short ball at Kohli's body, to which the batter shaped up for flick and missed. The ball brushed his trousers and lobbed wide of KL Rahul and raced away to the boundary.

Salt and Virat Kohli managed 30 runs against Mitchell Starc in a single over. This saw the Royal Challengers Bengaluru getting to their fifty in just three overs. However, despite the great start, the England batter had an unfortunate end to his innings as he got run out in the next over.

Salt ended with an innings of 37 runs off 17 balls. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener batted with a strike rate of 217 and also slammed four boundaries and three sixes in his overs. He, along with Virat Kohli (22), added 61 runs for the opening partnership.
