Chennai Super Kings player Ravichandran Ashwin came up with the request to Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul ahead of the clash between the two teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The off-spinner told the batter to take the game easy and let them win the game.

Chennai Super Kings are all set to lock horns with Delhi Capitals in their next game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams will be taking place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday (5th April).

Chennai Super are having a tough time in the IPL 2025

The game will be extremely crucial for Chennai Super Kings as they are having a tough time in the IPL 2025. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side started the league on high as they beat Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and since then, things haven't got their way.

Chennai Super Kings faced a disappointing loss 50-run loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their second game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It was for the first time in 18 years that the Rajat Patidar-led side beat the opposition at the venue, having won last in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2008.

Chennai Super Kings then faced a poor loss to Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati by 6 runs. They are currently reeling at the bottom half of the table and now would be keen to make a comeback in the game against Delhi Capitals.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been touted as one of the main reasons behind Chennai Super Kings' poor performances. The veteran off-spinner, who made his return to the team after a while this year, hasn't been at his best and has been leaking a lot of runs apart from failing to take wickets at crucial junctures.

Ravichandran Ashwin bagged two wickets against Mumbai Indians, giving away 35 runs. And then followed it up with another poor performance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, returning with the figures of 1/22. After that, against Rajasthan Royals, he conceded 46 runs for just one wicket.

Along with Chennai Super Kings, Ravichandran Ashwin would be hoping to make a strong comeback. But he will be up against the Delhi Capitals, who are in the red-hot form. The Axar Patel-led side has won all their games in the IPL 2025 so far and would be keen to carry on their golden form.

Ahead of the match between the two, Ravichandran Ashwin met KL Rahul and asked him about his family and newborn daughter. However, he also came up with a hilarious comment, saying that they should go easy on them and give them two points.

KL Rahul missed the first game of Delhi Capitals due to the birth of his child. He returned to the team for the second match and played a brilliant cameo, scoring 15 runs off just 5 balls. In the ongoing IPL 2025, he has been allotted the role of the middle order.
