This hilarious yet heartwarming moment took place during India A’s first innings in the Duleep Trophy 2024 game against India B on Sunday, September 7. Notably, the Indian cricket team spinner could manage only one run off 14 balls before becoming the victim of Mukesh Kumar in Bengaluru.

As the Chinaman bowler prepared to take his crease, Rishabh Pant decided to inject some lighthearted fun into the moment. With a naughty grin, the Indian wicketkeeper approached Kuldeep Yadav and gently restrained him from reaching his crease by playfully tugging at his helmet and pants.

This amusing interruption was followed by Pant placing a hand on Kuldeep’s shoulder and sharing a few words of jest. The playful antics between Pant and Kuldeep highlight the strong bond between them despite they are turning up as the opposition players.

Speaking about Pant’s performance in the Duleep Trophy 2024 opener, the Indian wicketkeeper made 7 runs in the first innings but bounced back strongly in the second innings, scoring 61 runs off 47 balls against India A at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

On the other hand, Kuldeep bowled only three overs in the first innings and scalped one wicket for India A. The Indian wrist spinner is yet to open account in the second innings against India B. Both are likely to be picked for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh.

Gauti Bhai is more aggressive, focused solely on winning: Pant

Recently, Pant opened up about the changes in the Indian cricket team after Gautam Gambhir took over from Rahul Dravid as the head coach. Gambhir had a mixed start to his tenure, winning the T20I series in Sri Lanka, but losing the ODI series.

Pant was quoted as saying by Jio Cinema: “Rahul Bhai was very balanced as a person and Gauti Bhai is more aggressive, focused solely on winning."
