Young Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag expressed frustration during the ongoing red ball match between India A and India B in the Duleep Trophy 2024. Riyan Parag seemed to have trapped Navdeep Saini in front of the stumps, prompting a loud appeal, but the umpire turned it down.

India B started the second day's play at 202/7 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, September 6. Young batter Musheer Khan and Navdeep Saini added an unbeaten 108-run partnership for the eighth wicket on Day 1. The duo started the second day's play on a positive note.

The drama occurred in the 107th over of India B's innings. Riyan Parag trapped Navdeep Saini in front of the stumps on the final ball. He delivered a 92.1 kmph length ball aimed at the middle stump. Saini was late on defense, and the ball hit his front pad, leading to a loud LBW appeal from Parag.

Riyan Parag was confident that he had dismissed Saini in his bowling. However, on-field umpire Tapan Sharma turned down the decision, and Parag shook his head in disbelief. Parag couldn't challenge the decision as India A had lost all their reviews in India's first innings of the ongoing match.

UltraEdge further verified that there was no contact with the bat, and ball tracking showed three reds. Navdeep Saini should have been dismissed had Parag reviewed the decision. Parag wasn't happy after seeing the replay.

Musheer Khan added a 205-run partnership with Navdeep Saini after the team was struggling at 94 for 7. Musheer scored 181 runs off 373 deliveries, including 16 boundaries and five sixes. The batting duo helped the team cross the 300-run mark in their first innings of the ongoing red ball match.

Saini was the last batter to be dismissed in India B's innings. The lower-order batter scored 56 runs off 144 balls, with the help of eight boundaries and one six. Akash Deep picked up four wickets for 60 runs as India B was bowled out for 321. Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan took two wickets each.

I've Bowled Around 350 Overs Every Season - Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag said that bowling is not a new skill for him. He said that he's consistently bowled around 350 overs each season in domestic cricket. Parag said that his bowling has gained more attention recently due to performances for India and in the IPL.

“Everyone thinks I've especially worked on my bowling. But I've taken wickets in domestic cricket. I have bowled around 350 overs every season,” Parag told YouTube channel Sports with Ravish.

“No one sees that because it isn't televised. So, it has been going on for a long time. Because I genuinely want to do that. But now, when I bowled for India and in the IPL, it got highlighted more. But I haven't done anything extra on that,” he added.
