What Happened In The Previous ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Match Between India and New Zealand?
The previous ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and New Zealand was held on March 2 and it was the last match of the group stage at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
A high-quality cricket was witnessed between the top teams and the match ended up with India emerging victorious by 44 runs to finish on an unbeaten note.
Batting first, India struggled early on, losing Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli within the first seven overs. However, Shreyas Iyer (79 off 98) and Axar Patel (42 off 61) stabilized the innings with a crucial 98-run partnership.
Also, Hardik Pandya’s quickfire 45 runs off 45 balls provided late momentum and India posted a competitive total of 249/9 on the board. For New Zealand, Matt Henry was the top performer as he registered figures of 5/42.
While chasing the target, the Kiwis started off on a decent note, but their struggles increased as the match progressed. The spinners of the Indian team made their life hard and the Black Caps were eventually bowled out for 205 in 45.3 overs.
Kane Williamson fought very well with his brilliant knock of 81 runs but was dismissed by Axar Patel in the 41st over. For India, Varun Chakravarthy was the game-changer as he bagged a five-wicket haul (5/42).
