Shimron Hetmyer's reaction said it all as he was lucky to avoid copping a nasty blow during the ongoing game between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025.
The incident took place in the 18th over when the West Indies star was standing at the non-striker's end while Dhruv Jurel was facing Spencer Johnson. It was the fourth ball of the over, and the Australian fast-bowler bowled a full delivery outside the off stump.
Dhruv Jurel hits Hetmeyer
Dhruv Jurel made a good connection with the ball, hitting it straight towards Hetmyer. With the ball traveling at a very fast pace, Shimron Hetmyer tried all he could to get out of the ball's way but failed. He jumped quickly, but the ball still hit him.
Fortunately, the ball hit the pad and Shimron Hetmyer did not suffer any injury. In the meantime, he lost his balance while trying to evade the ball and fell on the ground. Johnson quickly collected the ball in an attempt to run out Shimron Hetmyer.

However, the Rajasthan Royals batsman hurriedly put his bat inside the crease in a hilarious fashion. And in doing so, he lost his balance once again and was lying flat on the ground. The cameras then showed Shimron Hetmyer having a hearty laugh while he was still lying on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals have finished their innings on 151/9 after being asked to bat first. The Royals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and did not get the impetus to post a big total. They struggled against the Kolkata Knight Riders spinners and will be hoping that their spinners also make the most of the conditions.
Rajasthan Royals crumble in Guwahati
At one stage, they were reeling at 82 for 5 but managed to post a competitive total. For the second game in a row, Dhruv Jurel top-scored for the Royals. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 33 runs off 28 balls with the help of five fours. Towards the end, Jofra Archer played a fine cameo of 16 runs to take the score past the 150-run mark.
For KKR, Moeen Ali and Varun Chakaravarthy impressed with the ball. Both the spinners picked up two wickets each while conceding less than six runs per over.
