Jaiswal resumed his innings on Day 3 at 90 runs in Perth on Sunday, November 24. The left-handed batter converted his knock to a century early in the morning session. However, the visiting team lost the wicket of opening batter KL Rahul, who scored 77 runs off 176 balls with the help of five boundaries.

On the fifth ball of the 94th over in India's second innings of the match, Mitchell Marsh managed to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal. Marsh bowled a back-of-length delivery that offered width, and the left-handed batter played a cut shot only to find the fielder, who completed a catch at backward point.

Jaiswal was seen in disbelief after throwing his wicket. The crowd gave Jaiswal a standing ovation for his exceptional innings. He scored 161 runs off 297 balls, including 15 boundaries and 3 sixes. The southpaw removed his helmet and raised his arms as he made his way back to the dressing room.

Rishabh Pant, Dhruv Jurel Dismissed in Quick Succession in Second Innings

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul made history by becoming the first Indian opening pair to record a double-century partnership in Australia in Test cricket. Jaiswal and Rahul countered Australia's top-class bowling attack in the second innings. The duo added a 201-run stand to put India on top.

The wicket of Jaiswal triggered a mini collapse in the Indian batting lineup in the second innings. Notably, the visitors lost the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel after adding just eight runs on the board. Pant and Jurel managed to score one run each as Team India was at 321/5 in 96.3 overs.
