The limited-overs captain of West Indies National Cricket Team Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the West Indies Tour Of Pakistan due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and it is being told that he is not fully recovered from the injury and he needs more time to become fully fit to compete.

Meanwhile, under the supervision of CWI Chief Medical Officer Dr Israel Dowlat, the 34-year-old Pollard will undergo rehabilitation work in Trinidad. Also, he will be reassessed before the series against Ireland and England in January 2022.

Talking about the Pakistan series it will begin later this month, from December 13 to December 22. During this period, the teams will play three One Day Internationals games and three T20 Internationals games, and all the matches of the series are set to be played at National Stadium, Karachi. Also, the ODI series will be a part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

Nicholas Pooran And Shai Hope Set To Lead West Indies In Kieron Pollard’s Absence

With Captain getting ruled out Cricket West Indies (CWI) Selection Panel has announced Nicholas Pooran as T20I captain of the team and Shai Hope as the captain of the One Day Internationals team. It will be the first time Hope will be leading the ODI team however Pooran was stand-in captain in the series against Australia where West Indies won by 4-1 in the five-match CG Insurance T20I Series in St Lucia.

Also, Devon Thomas has replaced Pollard in the ODI team and Rovman Powell has been added to the T20I squad.
